Emergency Medical Services

πŸš‘ Department Overview

In a world divided by borders and gunfire, the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) stands as the only neutral faction dedicated solely to the preservation of life.

We are the doctors, surgeons, and paramedics of Ruin Roleplay II Asia. We do not carry weapons; we carry medical kits. We do not take sides; we take pulses. Whether you are a Police Chief, a Military General, or a Gang Leaderβ€”when you are bleeding out, we are the ones who answer the call.

βš•οΈ The Hippocratic Oath (Neutrality)

The core philosophy of the EMS is Absolute Neutrality.

  • Treat All Patients: We do not discriminate. A wounded criminal receives the same standard of care as a wounded police officer.
  • Sanctuary: The Hospital is a “Green Zone.” Violence, kidnapping, and hostility are strictly prohibited within medical facilities.
  • Patient Confidentiality: What happens in the ER, stays in the ER. We heal the wound; we don’t ask how you got it.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Operational Jurisdiction

EMS operates differently depending on where the emergency occurs:

1. The Urban Zone (In-City):

  • Routine Ops: Responding to traffic accidents, fights, and medical emergencies.
  • Police Support: Working alongside LSPD at crime scenes.
  • Hospital RP: Staffing Pillbox Hill MD for surgeries, check-ups, and psychological evaluations.

2. The Badlands (Out-City):

  • High-Risk Rescue: The Badlands are a warzone. EMS units entering the territory North of the Border Checkpoints often require Military Police (MP) Escorts.
  • Combat Medicine: Paramedics operating here must be swift and precise. You are often treating gunshot wounds in active situations.
  • Air Evac: Due to the distance and danger, the Badlands are primarily serviced by our Air Rescue Division.

🚁 Specialized Divisions

We offer diverse career paths for those who want to roleplay medical experts:

  1. Paramedic Response Unit: The frontline. Driving ambulances, stabilizing patients on the scene, and transporting them to the ER.

  2. Search & Rescue (SAR): Specialized units trained to climb mountains, navigate rough terrain, and rescue lost hikers or crashed pilots in the wilderness.

  3. Air Medical Unit: The “Angels of the Sky.” Pilots and Flight Medics who use helicopters (Air Ambulances) to extract critical patients from the Badlands to the City trauma center.

  4. Hospital Staff (Chief of Medicine/Surgeons): For those who prefer “Interior RP.” These doctors perform complex surgeries, plastic surgery, and manage long-term patient care within the hospital.

🀝 Relationship with Factions

  • EMS & LSPD: In the city, the Police protect us. We rely on them to clear scenes (e.g., active shootings) before we enter. Scene Safety is Priority #1.
  • EMS & Military Police: In the Badlands, the MP is our shield. When a “Code Black” (Officer Down) goes out in Sandy Shores, the MP clears a path for our ambulances.
  • EMS & Civilians: We are the most trusted faction. Civilians look to us for help, medical certificates for jobs, and psychological support.

Rules & Regulations

βš•οΈ Section 1: The Constitution of Care (Core Ethics)

We are the neutral guardians of life. Politics stops at the hospital doors.

1.1. Absolute Neutrality

  • The “Blind Eye” Rule: EMS personnel must treat ALL patients equally. You cannot refuse to revive a gang member because you dislike them, nor can you prioritize a police officer over a civilian just because of their badge.
  • Sanctuary Status: The Hospital is a strict Green Zone.
  1. No fighting, kidnapping, or criminal activity is allowed inside Pillbox or Mt. Zonah.
  2. EMS cannot be kidnapped while On Duty at a hospital. (Kidnapping EMS in the field is allowed only if there is a high-quality RP reason, e.g., needing a doctor for a bank heist).

1.2. Value of Life (Fear RP)

  • Self-Preservation: EMS are not soldiers. You must value your own life above the patient’s.
  1. If a gunfight is active (“Code Red”), you MUST NOT enter the scene. Wait at a safe distance (“Stage 1”) until Police/MP declare the scene “Code 4” (Safe).
  2. Entering an active crossfire to revive a friend is “Fail RP” (NVL – No Value of Life).

1.3. Corruption & Theft

  • Medical Supply Integrity: Selling Medkits, Bandages, or Revive Kits to gangs or civilians is Strictly Prohibited and results in a permanent ban.
  • Looting: EMS may NEVER loot a patient. Taking a gun, phone, or money from a downed body is a bannable offense.

πŸ’€ Section 2: Death & The New Life Rule (NLR)

This is the most important rule for server health. It prevents “Revenge Killing.”

2.1. The New Life Rule (NLR) Definition

  • Rule: If a player is “downed” and has to be “respawned” at the hospital (skipping the revive), they suffer total memory loss of the event that killed them.
  • EMS Role in NLR:
  1. If you revive a player on the scene, NLR does not apply. They remember everything.
  2. If you transport them to the hospital and they “check-in” (respawn), they forget the last 30 minutes.
  3. Forbidden: You cannot “remind” a patient who killed them. “Hey, that Vagos guy shot you, remember?” < This is Metagaming.

2.2. The “Mercy” Rule (Pocket Wiping)

  • If a patient is dead on arrival (respawns), EMS must roleplay that the patient “lost their belongings” during the trauma.
  • Note: EMS does not actually take the items; the script usually removes illegal items upon respawn.

🚫 Section 3: Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) Protocols

When is a player allowed to refuse a revive?

3.1. Valid DNR Orders

A player may roleplay having a “DNR Order” only if:

  • They have a registered “DNR” tag in their MDT (Medical Database) profile.
  • The situation is a “CK” (Character Kill / Perma-Death). If a player decides this is the end of their character’s story, EMS must respect that and call the Coroner (Time of Death).

3.2. “Force Revive” Situations

  • Police Custody: If a suspect is downed in a shootout with police, they cannot claim DNR to avoid jail. EMS must revive them so they can face justice.
  • Drowning/Suicide RP: Unless there is a prior lore reason, EMS should always attempt to save a life.

βš”οΈ Section 4: Badlands & Combat Medic Protocols

Operating in the Military Police Jurisdiction requires different rules.

4.1. “Warm Zone” Authorization

  • unlike in the City, EMS operating in the Badlands (with MP Escort) may enter “Warm Zones” (areas where shooting has stopped but threats may still exist) to drag wounded soldiers to safety.
  • Requirement: You must wear the “Tactical Vest” uniform variant.

4.2. Air Rescue Rules

  • No Landing Zones: Helicopters cannot land on steep mountains or in the middle of a dense gunfight.
  • Priority: In the Badlands, MP Officers and Innocent Civilians take priority over known Cartel members during triage (Combat Triage Rules).

πŸš‘ Section 5: Driving & Equipment

  • Speed Limits: You may only break traffic laws (Code 3) if a patient’s condition is deteriorating. Speeding for no reason is “Cop Baiting/Fail RP.”
  • Vehicle Damage: Driving a smashed ambulance off-road is unrealistic. Use the Search & Rescue (SAR) trucks for mountains, not the standard city ambulance.
